The benefit of eating leafy green vegetables are endless!
They are full of nutritious vitamins and minerals which are essential to maintain, and build a healthy and strong body. Not only are vegetables packed with fibre but they are also low in kilojoules meaning you can eat lots of them without worrying about how they will affect you overall daily energy consumption.
At TEAM Fitness we recommend eating lots of green and white fibrous vegetables like asparagus, broccoli, boy choy, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, cucumber, leek, spinach and zuccini as these will always fill you up and give you a bigger bang for you buck!
Vegetables such as pumpkins, potatos, kumara and beetroot should be eaten in moderation (1-2 servings per day). These types of root vegetables contain higher amounts of carbohydrates and although they are still very healthy and provide lots of nutrients, need to be eaten less frequently.
