Water is by far the most abundant substance in our body!
No matter what your training goals are, if your body is dehydrated you will struggle to reach your desired outcome.
Whether you are looking to achieve muscle growth, lose body fat or simply get fitter and slimmer, hydration is absolutely essential. Without a properly hydrated body your body will resist change and become sluggish and lethargic.
A simple way to ensure your body gets the water it needs is to always carry a water bottle on you through the day and keep a jug handy at your work station. That way you can sip away at it during the day because did you know that when you actually "feel" thirsty, this is your body telling you that it is already dehydrated.
At TEAM Fitness we recommend you drink at least 500mL of water with every 10kg of body weight you have (and more if you are exercising). For example: A 70kg woman should be drinking 3.5L of water per day.
If this seems like a lot, take it slow. Make a conscious effort to drink more and aim to step it up each week. You may find yourself needing to go to the toilet more often however this should lessen over time as your body becomes more accustomed to it
